Sunday mornings at Thad’s are informal. We wear comfortable clothes, we play music we like, and we do our best to create a place where people feel at home. We meet at the Writer’s Boot Camp in the Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica, just off the I-10 freeway at the Cloverfield Blvd. exit.

We provide childcare for babies in our Tiny Thad’s nursery. If you want to bring your little ones into the regular worship service, we love having them. It’s your choice. Our Thadito’s program is for kids age 4-12. Teenagers attend our regular worship service, or Rad Thad’s.

Sunday Morning:

Settin’ Up: Every Sunday we take over the Writer’s Boot Camp space. That means setting up everything we use for our gathering. It’s all kept in a storage area on-site. On Sunday morning, a group of dedicated volunteers unloads all the material, and together we assemble our morning worship space, our childcare and Sunday School rooms and hospitality tables.

Breakin’ Down: What goes in must come out. When our morning worship is finished, we “strike the set” and re-pack all the material into the storage space, where it remains until the next week.

Chairs: There are a lot of them. Setting up our worship space means setting out a few hundred chairs. But don’t worry; we have a purpose-built chair dolly that makes this job a lot easier. After the service, we stack and pack all the chairs again. This is an early morning and post-service opportunity to help.

Thadito’s Set – Up: At the WBC we are blessed with more Thadito’s space than ever. Its close proximity to the adult worship space makes it convenient and safe. However, this area also needs to be assembled and disassembled each week. Since this job mostly involves placing a bunch of colored pillows, anybody can do it!

Tiny Thad’s Set Up: Just down the hall from the entrance to the main worship space is a special space set aside for our smallest visitors. Yes, more pillows, and a safety gate for the door and soft mats for the floor. You guessed it, this space also needs to be unpacked and packed every Sunday morning.

Hospitality: Can you cook, bake or smile? Well, we like to provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a little buffet of tasty morning treats and beverages for everyone who comes to Thad’s. If you have the culinary gift, we could sure use your help. But if baking isn’t your thing, offer a smile to someone on Sunday morning.

All are welcome to come and pray with the worship crew, including Jimmy Bartz, the Church Keys and the set-up crew, every Sunday morning at 9:15 am at the WBC. We stop our setting-up, gather in the main worship space and take some time to pray for one another and for Thad’s before the service begins.
