Volunteer Opportunities at Thad’s
Sunday Morning Opportunities:
Thad’s Load In: Every Sunday we take over the Jazz Bakery in Culver City. This means bringing in everything we use in our gatherings. It’s all stored in a small storage space around the corner. As a group, we load the material into cars and transport it to the Jazz Bakery where teams assemble our morning worship.
Thad’s Load Out: What goes in, must come out. After our morning is finished, we break down and remove all we brought over. It’s back to the storage facility where the items remain until next week.
Chairs: They are green and there are a lot of them. We set up our main sanctuary every week and that means resetting the chairs from the usual Jazz Bakery set-up. This is an early morning opportunity and a post-service chance to help.
Thadito’s Set – Up: Across Washington Blvd. is the Thadito’s worship space in a small yoga studio. This area needs to be assembled and taken down each week. It mostly involves a bunch of colored pillows. Anybody can do it!
Tiny Thad’s Set Up: Inside the Jazz Bakery entrance is a special space set aside for our smallest visitors. More pillows. And some safety gates and mats on the floor. It also needs to be taken down after all the Mommies and Daddies retrieve their children.
Hospitality: Can you cook, bake or smile? We want to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere to everyone who comes to Thad’s. We try and lay out a lot of great food and drink for folks, so if you have a talent for that, we could sure use you! If food isn’t your thing, but you can smile at 9:30 A.M. on a Sunday morning, we’d love to have you do that for us, too!
